Creating functional, cohesive spaces is my primary focus, however, I love to start designing with clients’ treasured objects, a gorgeous textile or well-loved piece of furniture in mind. Curating a pared-back palette of materials allows carefully sourced lighting, artwork and belongings to enrich spaces. Thoughtful styling pulls everything together to create deeply personal, liveable, contemporary interiors.
My studio can provide a completely bespoke service for projects on any scale, from a home styling refresh to a single room interior design, space planning and lighting plans for proposed extensions to project management of whole house renovations.

Brief - To replace an original 1950’s bathroom with a classic design that felt warm and contemporary. The Arabescato Viola marble had been longed for by the client for several years, providing bold colour and pattern, a large format tile was used floor to ceiling in the shower enclosure, a metro tile was used to half height around the whole room, topped with a matching pencil trim.
Building the walls out to accommodate wall hung taps, shower and flush fittings allowed for cast stone basins and bath to be specified.
The materials palette was otherwise muted and earthy, walnut planks for the floor and taupe walls, ceiling and woodwork. Opaque glass light fittings gave a small reference to the heritage of the house.

Brief - To create a warm, cosy sitting room with seating for 6 to 8 people for entertaining, watching TV and listening to music.
Building a palette of natural materials around a pair of camel coloured linen sofas, oak flooring, a large geometric woollen rug and simple linen curtains created a relaxed scheme. A Chinese lacquered cabinet and vintage Thai fabric remnants fashioned into small cushions give the scheme depth and character, introducing shades of navy and red.

Brief - To design a contemporary kitchen with character that minimised the fitted kitchen aesthetic. A large space measuring 5m x 6.5m needed to accommodate the usual kitchen paraphernalia, but also be a room to socialise in with family and friends.
A white on white scheme was intended to evoke a gallery feel. Specifying bespoke, limed wood cupboards, honed stone worktops and warm white walls with oak doors and floor created an environment where a collection of artwork and ephemera become the focus.

A remnant of marbled hemp fabric inspired this simple bedroom scheme. Fresh, white linen blinds, curtains and bed linen create a simple, colonial feel when paired with a rattan bed and black lacquered furniture.
This ensuite shower room maintains the colour palette of the adjoining bedroom with the specification of a blackened oak wall hung vanity basin and large format emerald green marbled porcelain tiles. A bespoke double door maintains the modern colonial style aesthetic.
